OK - so I have now been "tagged" twice and haven't had the chance to log on and do my duty...so, I guess I will comply - here are 7 random facts about me:

1.  I am a NASCAR junkie!  LOVE it, that's all I can say - lol!

2.  I have no idea what my real haircolor is anymore.

3.  Our bedroom has an accent wall painted in Always Artichoke.

5.  I wanted to be a Marine Biologist.

6.  My favorite color is pink.

7.  I think I am beginning to get a cold just in time to ring in the new year!  :(

Little Birdie Preview

Blogging Sisters

I recently joined a group known as Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers (SBS6).  This is a group of 20 gals from around the world that like me love to stamp and share their creations by way of their blogs.  I am looking forward to gaining inspiration and a few friends too!  If you ever have a few minutes, be sure to check out the blogs of some of my new "sisters" - they are some talented gals! :)

And, one thing I am supposed to do for the sisters is share a few things about myself:  Hi, my name is Tami and I am a stampaholic! lol  I have become addicted to paper crafting and have amassed quite a collection of paper, ink, ribbon and various doo-dads.  I have been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for about 2 years now and blame my neighbor and upline for getting me hooked!  You will see that about 95% of the images that I use on my site are Stampin' Up! and I will mix in a few Bellas here and there for fun, although I do feel like a traitor when I do - lol!

Cold Winter...Warm Heart!

Oh baby is it cold outside - bring on the java and hot cocoa!  We have had three days of cold temps and bitter winds and finally some real SNOW!!!  I LOVE to see a good snow!  If it's going to be cold, I want snow, not snizzle, not drizzle, not rain or ice just pretty white light and fluffy snow - it has been really pretty and has finally given me the inspiration that I needed to decorate our Christmas tree which has been up and waiting for a week now.  I wish it would just keep snowing like this until Christmas, but unfortunately, we are supposed to be as high as 46 on Thursday or so of this week and all my pretty snow will turn to mush - yuck!

On to happier thoughts... I have finished my first card with my new set Happy Heart Day which will be officially unveiled in the new 2008 Spring~Summer Stampin' Up! Catalog and Idea Book!  This set is so cute with it's little happy mouse and elephant.

Oh Baby!!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to come up with something new, but I am afraid it will be this way a little bit until the new year gets here and life hopefully slows down a bit.  Don't give up on me though as plenty of new stuff WILL be on it's way!

NEW CATALOG:  I am getting so excited for the NEW Stampin' Up! Spring-Summer Collection catalog to get here.  I have had the privilege of some secret sneak peaks and let me tell you, it's looking good ladies.  There appears to be a little more variety in the styles than this past catalog and there also appears to be more stamp designs to be colored, which excites me!  If you would like to reserve one of the new catty's when it arrives (should be here before the 1st of the year) please click HERE and send me a note.  I have 16 of them coming and they will go to first come, first served.

OK --- on to today's project!  I had to use what we SU! demos refer to as "Contraband Rubber" today since Stampin' Up! no longer has a preggo girl, to explain the use of the Bella stamp.  This is just a little journal for someone expecting - I figure that she can jot down notes about the pregnancy, insert belly pics, ultrasound pictures, etc.  To get you more excited about the new catty - how about the awesome NEW Designer Paper I used which is called Bali Breeze!

Simply Sweet

I needed a card for a little baby shower that the ladies are throwing at our church tonight.  The mom to be knows that she is having a little boy, so I immediately reached for some of my favorite In Colors!  Unfortunately, of the two sets that I used, 1 is retiring at the end of the month and the other is already retired. :(  Very sad in my opinion - but I like to think that Stampin' Up! has some great new images in mind that we will soon see in the new catalog on January 2nd! 

BTW, Sorry the photos haven't been the best lately - I don't know what's going on - I haven't done anything different??  If anyone has some suggestions on this - I would love to hear them - thanks!

Altered Project

This is a little cardboard purse that I purchased from Joann and decorated to make into a little keepsake box/photo frame for my daughter.  The handle (which is not shown in the photo) is beaded and sets it off perfectly.  Simple, quick and easy if you are looking for any last minute gift ideas for Christmas or a Baby Shower. 

How I made it:

1.)  I painted the sides, top and bottom of the purse box with a matching Folk Art brand of Acrylic Paint - Ballet Pink for this project.

2.)  I took out the designer paper that I was going to use and placed it on my cutting mat facing down on the mat.  I put the purse on top of the paper and traced the outline with a pencil and cut it out - repeat for back of purse.  To get the center cut out right, I simply placed my paper on top of the purse and made the cutting outline by pressing on the cut out edge with my finger to get a crease I could cut on.

3.)  I next applied the paper on the purse using Mod Podge and let dry.  Once dry, I rubbed a tea stain ink over all the sides to antique, blend it a bit.

4.)  Embellish as you like...then you are ready to insert your photo! :)

Simple and easy!!  Anyone can do it - give it a try!
